'The Squire of Gothos' by Paul Schneider

While delivering supplies to the colony on Beta VI, the Enterprise crosses an empty sector of space, where the crew discovers an uncharted planet which should not be there. When Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Sulu inexplicably disappear, Lieutenant Commander Spock sends Doctor McCoy and geophysicist Lieutenant Karl Jaeger to investigate the surface of the mysterious planet. Here they encounter Trelane, a spoiled and reckless humanoid with incredible psionic powers and a passion for the military history of Eighteenth-century Earth. Trelane is responsible for kidnapping Kirk and Sulu, bringing them to Gothos and placing them in an arena he has created based on the Napoleonic era. He then invites the four Starfleet officers to a party. Spock is able to beam his colleagues back to the ship, but then Trelane promptly transports the entire bridge crew down to the planet for a banquet. In desperation, Kirk challenges Trelane to a duel - but how can be beat such a powerful - and petulant - adversary..?
